The Thuraya SatSleeve+ combines the advantages of mobile and satellite telephony
Reliable communication anywhere in the world is important to you?
Don't want to rely on the cellular network and travel in areas not covered?
The Thuraya SatSleeve+ is ideally suited for those who need additional coverage via satellite telephony on a case-by-case basis, such as travelers in third countries and areas not covered by mobile communications or emergency communications for crisis preparedness or business continuity management. Satellite telephony is particularly attractive in third countries where mobile roaming charges are far more expensive than the per-minute rates on the Thuraya network. The Thuraya network is particularly favorable in NOVA countries, for example Europe, and extends over the west coast of Europe from the north to Africa without the south of Africa via the Middle East to Australia and partly Oceania.
With the SatSleeve+ you always have a narrowband internet connection via satellite with you for emergencies. This can be controlled with Android phones and the data manager Netguard for Internet access to the satellite connection via WLAN and GSM to prevent unnecessary data traffic from "phone home - apps".
This keeps the full bandwidth available for the relevant apps and saves data costs.
The SatSleeve+ offers an emergency call function with an SOS button that contacts a stored phone number even without a connected smartphone. At the same time, SMS messages with the current position are sent to stored recipients. For sailors interesting is the automatic sending of the current position in defined intervals to be found when moving at sea.
The phone can be charged with USB, 12V and international power plug and also the battery can be changed easily.
The SatSleeve+ is particularly well suited for use in emergency communications as cell phones used in daily operations can be quickly and easily converted to a satellite phone. This means that they can be permanently connected to the telephone network in areas without mobile phone coverage, in the event of a blackout or other disaster scenarios, and not only in distant countries, but also here in Austria and throughout Europe.
