Connected worldwide with the Iridium Extreme 9575 PTT
Reliable communication anywhere in the world is important to you?
Benefit from the global coverage provided by the satellite constellation of the Iridium network, which enables reception even in the far north and towards Antarctica.
The Iridium satellite network
Due to the satellite constellation of Iridium you are not bound to the direct line of sight towards the equator, but you can also establish a network connection on the north side (northern hemisphere) of a mountain as long as the Iridium satellite is above you. This is also true in canyons, valleys or fjords. This would be quickly the case for example in northern countries from which geostationary satellites are almost unreachable.
For your safety
The Iridium Extreme 9575 PTT is equipped with an SOS button on which you can pre-program the receiver of the emergency call, the position data and/or an SOS email.
Battery and device information
The PTT version of the Iridium Extreme 9575 is extremely rugged and the only one built to military standard 810F. It is dustproof, shockproof and jet waterproof to IP65. The standby time of the PTT device is up to 30 hours, the talk time up to 4 hours.
GEOS Alliance
The Iridium Extreme 9575 PTT provides access to the GEOS global rescue service. GEOS is among the leading providers of emergency response solutions and monitoring. The company has helped save many lives in rescue operations in over 140 countries. The center is staffed 24/7 throughout the year to respond to your SOS emergency call, locate your device and notify the appropriate contacts and emergency services in your area. Once you place an emergency call, you will receive confirmation that help is on the way and continuous updates on the status of the rescue mission.
Connections
The optional "Optimizer" can be used to create a WLAN hotspot at 2.44Kb/s to connect devices such as tablets or smartphones to the Internet via WLAN. In addition, Iridium makes it possible to transmit small emails and then use this connection to receive weather data (GRIB FILES), for example. This eliminates problems due to unsuitable cables or missing modem drivers as well as the configuration of a firewall to use the Iridium data connection sensibly.
PTT (Push-to-Talk) functions
- No SIM card is required for PTT operation, the devices identify themselves in the network via their IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) serial number
- Talkgroups and zones can be defined by the user himself via an Internet portal in the "Command Center".
- Zones can be circular or square in any size worldwide except the Middle East, but within the boundary of the selected Talkgroup subscription.
- Depending on the zone, 3 or 5 (depending on the tariff) PTT devices must be registered, there is no limit upwards
- PTT users can talk to all participants within the talkgroup
